Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
"You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go…"
That’s the opening of the delightful book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”.
Dr. Seus, the author of the book, makes an analogy between a Journey and our Life.
I also believe that the way we travel through our lives says quite a lot about us.
What kind of traveler are you in your life’s journey?
A traveler who can still enjoy a rainy day?
Or,
A traveler who’s mood depends on the weather?
A traveler who packs only the things he really needs
Or,
A traveler who straggles the way under the weight of his own unnecessary luggage?
A traveler who’s confidant and ready to deal with the curves of his own way,
Or,
A traveler who is looking for the well trodden path?
A traveler who is be able to find the right road after losing it
Or,
A traveler frightened by every turn in the road?
A traveler who keeps his heart open and makes new friends
Or,
A traveler who criticize everyone new and different?
A traveler who breathes this beautiful world
Or,
A traveler who stays at home, seeing the world through a narrow crack in the door?
We are sometimes sure and strong, while other times less so.
But those of us who set out to find marvelous places allow ourselves to learn – not only about different countries, cultures and languages, but mainly about ourselves. 🙂
So come on,
today is THE day.
Go for it and fly far away! 🙂
