The internet is a vast ocean of information. These days it takes great effort to separate the wheat from the chaff and find relevant information, and that’s what I want to help you with on this blog.
So planning your vacation can be very simple. Here are three internet based tools that I use:
• Digital Travel Books – I like to get basic information and quick impression of each country we travel from books.
• TripAdvisor.com – I find and mark places of interest for us.
• Google Maps – I save map with all my places that visualizes the route and I use it for navigation later.
I usually set out a list of places and things to do hat is longer than we are eventually able to see. So each day we choose a couple of places with flexibility considering the weather or advise of the locals we meet on our way, who recommend hidden gems we didn’t know about.
Often these places are the highlights of our trip! 🙂
Books And Travel Information
With amazon.com you can download travel guides to your smartphone, tablet or laptop.
Digital books include maps and useful links. So with a click of a button you can go to the website of a hotel, restaurant, circus or train company .
The book’s maps and information can be used offline just as we would with a hard-copy book.
I recommend downloading the Kindle app
On amazone.com you can get a sample of any book, skim it and decide whether to purchase it or not, similar to what you’d do in a real book store.
TripAdvisor
www.tripadvisor.com – is the world's largest travel site, enabling travelers to unleash the full potential of every trip. TripAdvisor offers advice from millions of travelers and a wide variety of travel choices and planning features. It is the largest travel community in the world.
There’s another app that works offline called City Guide. Download it too, it’s very convenient.
Google Maps
I use Google Maps to mark places and attractions I find. It’s convenient to navigate using the mobile app.
Here’s how to mark places of interest using Google Maps.
